Social media strategist (freelance)
 

Good Word is looking for a social media strategist with a passion and understanding of social media and community building who loves to discover new trends in the digital space, embraces innovation and truly understands the importance of brand, voice and reputation management in conjunction with an engaging online persona. This role works in tandem with our communications team to develop social strategies as well as create content, either independently or as part of larger communications plan, depending on client wants and needs.

 

Position requirements:

 

  • Ability to improve the online reach and reputation of our clients by developing and coordinating their social media presence through the identification and creation of relevant content.

 

  • Create, curate, schedule and manage social content that is accurate, error-free, consistent and on- brand (style, tone of voice).

 

  • Produce monthly reporting on channel growth and performance by client and provide recommendations and insights for improvement.

 

  • Up-to-date knowledge of social trends/new functions within existing platforms/new platforms.

 

  • Ability to establish monthly content calendars.

 

  • Expertise in budget planning and resource allocation related to boosting/promoting content and growing social following.

 

  • Keen aptitude for analyzing campaign performance metrics and leveraging data to guide decisions that increase engagement.

 

  • Passion for following new opportunities and ideas across the social media landscape.

 

  • Regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management with an ability to troubleshoot issues quickly.

 

  • Ability to act as a client liaison, including working closely with project manager to ensure final products meet predetermined budgets, scopes and designs.

 

Experience/skills required:

 

  • Advanced diploma or Bachelor’s degree in communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Two to four years’ related experience in developing and implementing social media content
    strategies.

 

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and monitoring software (Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Pintrest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Facebook/Instagram Insights etc.).

 

  • Experience writing and editing for digital communications.

 

  • Experience creating images and video for social media.

 

  • High proficiency with Mac or PC formats.
